4 cores and 6GB RAM is very generous, I'm running on a VDSL 70/20 and use a 2 core i3 with 4GB RAM - that's more than sufficient for my home use.
Agreed, I have a 150/150 Fiber and I allow 2 cores and 6 Gig of memory in a VM and its working great. They should nock the core count down to 2 and raise the memory to 8 GB, Whats the harm in this? You cant purchase 3GB sticks of ram and if you have a mother board capable of duel Chanel memory than the current configuration of 6 GB is useless.

I think they are being more than generous and I for one am very glad! Different people run different configurations and for 99.9% of the home users this will be more than enough. I was hoping for 4gb with a dual core so this is more than generous.
As far as dropping cores to accomodate more ram, I think they already understand that in the future, the bottle neck won't be the processing power but ram and that is why home version is being offered as such[;)] Still very satisfied and glad that they continued in astaro's tradition to offer free software and didn't do what vyatta and others have done.

Agreed and thank you for taking the time to respond[:)] I just thought 6GB is a very odd number but either way I am grateful for the offering.
