First time Astaro user

Hi,

I want to set up a dedicated firewall at home using Astaro. The reason I want to use Astaro is because I want to control all inbound/outbound traffic.

I rent an apartment and get internet access from my landlord. In my apartment I got an ethernet wall contact (http://pagemill.org/compost/mefi/ethernet/IMG_3622.JPG) that are linked to my landlords broadband modem/router. I have my own wireless router connected to the ethernet wall contact in my apartment. I connect my laptop and PS3 wirelessly to my router.

I would like to control all innbound/outbound internet traffic from my router. I have an old PC that I can use as an dedicated Astaro firewall. I was thinking about something like this:

Inbound:
"Ethernet wall contact" to "PC running Astaro" to "Wireless router" to "PS3/Laptop"

Outbound:
"PS3/Laptop" to "Wireless router" to " PC running Astaro" to "Ethernet wall contact" 

Questions:
1. Is the setup I am thinking about something that can be done?

2. I sometimes use an VPN provider (StrongVPN) to stream from Hulu and BBC iplayer. Would this still be possible with Astaro dedicated firewall?
