upgrading from 8.200 to 8.201 not succeeding

hi all,

i'm quite new to ASG... yesterday i have updated my virtual appliance (8.102) to 8.103 and then to 8.200.

A few hours later i've found the 8.201 package in the ftp server, uploadad via webadmin and... no update process has started. Yes the file has been downloaded correctly, checked with md5. And tried a few times...

Definately a big problem with Essentials license.

I have reinstalled ASG from scratch, using software installation instead of virtual appliance.
Same result: update from 8.200 to 8.201 is not working [:(]

Well, I had a support ticket in and pointed them to this thread. After a couple of messages they told me that I didn't have a high enough support level to actually be helped.

Anyone gotten this working?

A suggestion for you Essentials guys that want to use 8.201 -- the iso at download.astaro.com has been released for 8.201 -- you could try reloading from scratch with that and restoring a backup. Bear in mind I have not tested this, so your mileage may vary.

I tried it in a VM and it fails when you hit 8.201 - the problem isn't software exactly it is licensing.

So, downloading the 8.201 ISO (sorry, originally posted 8.102, not what I meant, transposed the numbers), and installing it from scratch (no up2dates needed)... you can't apply your essentials license?

Yep, several people have reported that their essentials license won't work with 8.2x.
