It's finished.

Point a PC's web browser to the firewall's IP on https port 4444
e.g.
https://192.168.100.1:4444/

If you want to login to the console first, you can login as root and it will ask you to set a new password, but you do not need to login to the console to finish configuration.

I've been trying to access the WebAdmin from a web browser on that box's IP on port 4444 and it won't come up.

I can't Ping or TraceRoute it either. 

I only have one network NIC in that box. Could that be the problem?

I'm stumped.

Hi, One NIC won't be enough for a firewall, unless you're going to setup VLANs, but it should still let you access webadmin.

You could login to the console (keyboard) as root, and check the NIC status with 
ifconfig 
and 
ethtool eth0
and 
ping

I am a newbie who is trying to get the firewall setup.  I am having the same issue as the user above.  When I point my PC's web browser to the firewall's IP on https port 4444, I am unable to access the WebAdmin page.  I have 3 NIC's in the firewall PC.  

If I follow the advice above and log into the console as root to check the status of the NIC's, what should I look for?  Anything else I should try?

Typically with an Astaro install you are prompted for the internal network IP to be used.

Set the IP and subnet correctly during the install.  Ensure your PC you are going to configure Astaro with has an IP address in the same range and subnet.

Once Astaro boots I recommend connecting from your PC's NIC to the Astaro NIC and in your browser go to: https://IP_YOU_SET:4444

Note HTTPS.  You will receive a security warning as the certificate used by Astaro initially is self-generated, you can safely ignore this.

For those new to Astaro, all configuration is typically done via web browser, not on the Astaro console.  (That's used for troubleshoooting only).

If at first you can't connect, try another NIC on the firewall as the order may be messed up.

Typically I find on normal PC's eth0 is closest to the USB/keyboard/mouse ports on a mainboard and eth#'s increase as you move away from those ports.

I have the same issues,  I cannot get any IP or any connectivity to the router.  I've used 4 different cables, made 2 additional cables, reinstalled the software and I've tried both the use of a switch and direct connection.  If I use the root commands listed above I get nothing negative.  Is this supposed to work or just some mickey mouse BS they do so people get frustrated and buy the business edition?

Make sure you know which is the interface you setup for administration.

You can login to the console as root with a blank password, and run
ifconfig

The interface with the IP address you set will show the MAC address... you can then check your NICs to see which has that MAC, and plug in to it.

You can also use
ethtool eth0
ethtool eth1
...
to see which NIC has an active connection (look for "Link detected: yes").

Also make sure you are using HTTPS on port 4444 to access web admin, e.g.
https://192.168.1.1:4444/

I get connectivity lights on either one when I connect it to the PC or switch, I also have already tried plugging into one or the other card several times.  When I use the ethtoolx command it tells me that a link is detected, which is fantastic, now only if it'd make use of it.

The router isn't giving any IP addresses out, all I get from my workstation is that there is no connection and it's not recieving any IP.

In the hopes of helping someone else in the future, I had to manually give my workstation an IP address (example 192.168.1.101 when the router was 192.168.1.100) in order to get any connection or response, so to say anything it sounds like DHCP would be not working correctly on the routers end for whatever reason.

When you install Astaro, all services are turned off, as they should be for security reasons.
