help with adding any license...

I recently purchased a hardware appliance used on ebay since this is my first real enterprise router. I used  zywall 2+/wrt54gs w ddwrt/and verizon actiontec plastic junk. Yes I'm a newbie in this area don't hate me. 

I promised myself I would get a real router after I was hacked. [:O]
My id was stolen and my wifes ccs got banged out hard last year. The BS I had to go through to straighten that out was insane..... I only use CC over the net now. Don't use debit cards they will make you chase down "your money". Anyway I won't go there. Hence the purchase.

For the price I thought it was a good deal but the headache factor to get this working correctly is trying my novice skills. 

UPDATE: WOW, WOW WOW where do I begin. Its worth the time to do this!!!! This is NFL league ...Im happy just being on the team.

V 7.104 CPU i686 4050mb

Problem #1: The red light in the back stays on and she beeps a very loud steady ear popping high pitched ring. I'm deaf now...I use hand signals to communicate.[:O]front panel lights green and LCD works fine and can shutdown/reset default. I hear the bootup beeps fine but can anyone tell me whats wrong here?

SOLVED= BAD PLUG CORD - YOU NEED 2 "GOOD" PLUGS -FIXED
The Made in China cord is in the garbarge.[/U][/B]

Problem #2 [/COLOR] "Your Licenses has expired....in order to use web admin please update a valid license" so I registered for home edition. She won't take period. I figured this out. Possible reformat but I want to ask first before I do destruction.

Can we get just the firewall working w/o formatting HDs?
SOLUTION: NO COMPLETE FORMAT[/COLOR]

Note: Make sure you EXTRACT the ISO file to the cdrom!!!! Must have several files NOT one. It won't boot to setup Astaro if you don't do this.

That's all I really definitely need  w/dos attacks included, that's why i wanted the home license but I take the basic business. Which ever is easier/faster.

After reading some posts:
Looks like I must install / format the hard disk and reinstall the Software version from scratch? if so how? for dummies/ I never used dban but looks like I will learn how. Should I wipe out the harddrives then add the software version? or hardware appliance ISO? I'm assuming from other posts just erase and install home ISO software.

I know other have the same problem(s) or at least may have.

yes my setup is ghetto but its mine. Notice my coffee on the rack! I'm stepping up now entering a new Astaro world... run. [:)] Don't laugh I'm sure you guys were all there once before.....
