vShield Replacement?

I am a long time Astaro user and manage a ever growing Vmware cluster environment.
We have access to vShield but seeing that Astaro is giving away a business version of ASG I was going to do a comparison of the two.

Currently vShield is VERY integrated into Vmware.
Does Astaro plan on offering this type of functionality as it looks like there is no built-in integration of the Astaro VM appliance into vmware.

    Hi Joe,

    Nice to see you. We had planned to implement ASG more tightly into VMware using their Vsafe API, however due to the heavy engineering costs required on VMWare's side, I was informed last week they have cancelled/discontinued this program. We will check with them after around 6 months when they launch a new program that might allow us to more tightly bind ASG between virtual machines themselves, however at the moment no tools are available to us which could accomplish this.
