SFOS customized Linux OS platform and supports openvm tools. You can check service for vmtool by service -S command in advance shell.

vmtools is supported for Esxi and vmware workstations/player .

Okay. SFOS is not recognized /dev/cdrom after installation. [:S]

But, SFOS is working for VMXNET 3 in default state. So, maybe I trying another way.

The necessary tools are installed with the firmware when using the VM images. Are you using the VMware VM images and seeing issues with the VMXNET drivers?
There should not be a need to install the tools after deploying the VM image.

Yes. Sophos configured OVF that just Other 32-bit. Default NIC is e1000e and permitted adding NIC e1000 only. So I was confused short time that was tried install as ISO.

I'm selected Other 3.x Linux 64-bit. No trouble VMXNET drivers, I think, currently.
