Install and first Configuration:
- The changes in the initial setup wizard seemed to make that process more confusing.
- Why are we setting up notifications and NTP in basic setup?
- The initial security configuration on the device has very little information regarding what it is the user is doing.
- The most glaring issue that I saw on the original configuration wizard was that the user was not presented with a change password prompt leaving each device with the default password.
Things I feel like would help make this transition more smooth.
- A glossary of terms with a translation from what Sophos used to call items in the UTM days to what things are called now. Things like Objects are now Assets.
- A site map of the web interface. I can remember the first time I used an Astaro firewall. I was so pleased to see that it made sense how the interface was laid out. I've been clicking through all the menus for two hours and the only thing that makes sense is that the gear icon from Google has settings in it.
Notes:
Installed the software version of Copernicus on an upgraded UTM 425 today. Replaced the original hard drive with a Samsung 850 Pro SSD and increased the memory to 12 GB. The install was fairly easy all the interfaces were detected in the correct order which was nice. Memory usage at idle is about 1.2 GB(10%) with nothing turned on and no traffic. CPU usage at idle is between 1% and 6%.
