[ANSWERED] DNS resolve test

System-Diagnostic - Tools...DNS resolve test - if lookup is for routed DNS setting, result shows first DNS IP ....it would be better to show local IP or Ip of the resolving host for that domain.

    DNS requests are still resolving even when fake IP is put in Static DNS settings:


    Hi,

    DNS Service first uses static DNS entry if IP is fail to resolve it will use root DNS server ( not configurable and added in firmware) to resolve request so it seems in your case request is resolve by system root DNS server.

    Below is DNS service priority :

    1. DNS host Entry
    2. DNS Request Route
    3. Configured DNS Server ( Static or Dynamically learn )
    4. Root DNS Server

    Hi snehagohil,

    when will be removed the DNS Request Route bug which I reported in Partner Alfa phase?

    Because according to my tests this bug is still in version SF01V (SFOS 15.01.0 Beta-P)

    Hi,

    Inline Adding for new host ( create new host)  is not supported in the DNS request Route widget so it is confusion for the admin. 

    We have requested to provide support/hint for admin to create host entry before configuring DNS Request Route.ETA is not know as of now.
