Astaro Wireless Security BETA Extension

Dear Astaro Wireless Security BETA Testers,

Thank you very much for contributing to the Wireless Security BETA program. Due to the very active feedback we have received so far we decided to extend the BETA program by two weeks. This gives us the opportunity to fix several minor bugs and, even more important, to add frequently required features to the solution such as VLAN support or the ability to hide SSIDs.

Within the next days we will release an ASG Up2Date package (a pre ASG V7.507 release) for you to use. This can easily be installed through WebAdmin. We will let you know shortly where to download it.

This extra time also means that you will have more time to complete our online survey, which is available at . Please provide your feedback until August 26th 2010 at the latest.

    Sorry, no new thoughts. As we said earlier, Astaro Wireless Security for ASG V8 will roughly be available in October.


    Is that the Beta version you are talking about? I don't want to downgrade to verson 7.x and I waiting for the v8 beta with AP support [:D]

    I agree with wingman, I thought there was some type of beta for v8 really soon. V8 works so much better for me than v7 and I haven't moved back to v7 just to get the AP working. I know that astaro wants to get v7 working before porting to v8 and betas for 2 different versions at a time would be counter productive but v8 is the future and will be on all appliances from the factory. You would think that v8 wireless would be top priority.

    Although I can see the marketing department trying to capitalize on already deployed v7 market and enticing them with proprietary astaro wireless system. That would make v7 top priority. 

    Atleast a couple of more weeks of v7 beta and then the trials for v8 will hopefully start without giving the developers any resting time[:D] Can't wait[;)]
