normaly you only have to configure the inital step in wlan management, then connect the ap and under accesspoints should appear a acchespoint in the "pending" section.

Yes i was also under same impression but i my case there is some problem with some sw or hw ,i have update my asg 7 with wifi updated kernel also 

any other workaround ,how do diagnose the initialization of AP or communication between ap and asg

Hi utm_kid,

from what you describe (LED blinking pattern) the AP is either not able to acquire an IP address via DHCP or cannot connect to the ASG.

Is the AP connected to the ASG via a STP enabled switch? We've seen a few reports already [1] where the AP failed to acquire an IP address via DHCP in time and thus ended up in a reboot loop.

Could you please check if the AP gets an IP address assigned by your DHCP server?

no i am not using any manged switch infacet 1 have netgear switch gs108t but i am not using that 

what if i reset the asg and reconfigure asg will it help !
or any other way to reset ap  /should i reset AP as there is provision for that at the back site of AP

Ok, so DHCP succeeds but no connection to the ASG possible. Could you please attach your interface configuration (ip ranges etc.) on the ASG?

Fixed ,i reset the system and reinstall all things again did manual dhcp and other setting and its working now ,i am trying to put asg7 behind asg 8 as this system has 2 interface only !

never tryed but i will able to do it !

(if u have --if u have some spare time u can recommend u r idea )but dont """""waste""""" time on it

That's one oddy problem i also ran into ...

If your AP-Interface on the ASG has an IP address 192.168.0.254 and you use the wizard an DHCP pool will be added from 192.168.0.1 to .254.

As the ASG seems to assign the leases backwards the first AP will get the 192.168.0.254 - and that won't work. 

Did you change the IP address of the ASG in your second installation? That would affirm this problem.

[edit] I see you changed the DHCP pool that's the same workaround as changing the interfaces IP ;-)
