Our network topology:
No VLANs, a dozen HP switches and Windows 2003 Servers with DHCP enabled. The DHCP on the Astaro is disabled because we wanted that service to be done by the Active Directory Servers.
I just released one of our ASG 220 from our HA pack, did a factory reset and brought it up to Version 7.506.
After doing that i was eager to plugin an AP and see whats happening (after enabling the Wireless Security). To my surprise: Nothing happened. The AP showed not up unter "Acess Points". After playing around a bit, i figured out that the AP got an IP-Adress from our Windows 2003 Server. At that moment it came to my mind, that this might be the problem. After plugging the Astaro and the AP in one seperated switch with an connected Laptop, and enabling DHCP on the LAN-Interface of the Astaro the AP got an IP-Adress from the Astaro and showed up under "Access Points".
So my question is: Do we have to work with VLANs? Or is there another smart way to get around this "Security Feature" (I know for sure, that it isn't the most secure way to plug in an AP to the "normal" network switch, but Astaro always wants to keep things simple, in my opinion that solution at the moment isn't simple, when the Astaro is not the DHCP Server)
Isn't it possible to add the AP Mac-Adresses manually so that there are no IP-Adresses needed?
