connet AP to Astaro which isn´t the default GW

Hi, i d like to test the Astaro AP in our internal LAN. Therefore i ve installed a VMWare of 7.506 - but as it´s not the default gateway nor on the default route the AP´s dont "find" my Astaro. Can i set a Route on my Firewall (from Juniper ;-()

    Hi there,
    if you use a DHCP server you can create an reservation for the APs MAC and set the default GW for this Reservation to your astaro.

    I did it this way and it worked perfect ... the only weird thing was that it seems that the each APs (AP30) has at least two different MACs... the first one is the MAC printed on the device and the second one is the same except the last number... But this may be a bug correspondig to my APs.

    The MAC address printed on the back is the base mac address, a range of at least 9 mac addresses is allocated for each AP. One for ethernet + 8 for wifi.

    In the preflashed firmware, the APs used the MAC address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:00 as ethernet address but due to some hw limitations this has to be the first wifi mac address (=bssid) and thus we moved the ethernet address to be xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:08 whereas wifi uses xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:00-xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:07.

    So, the first connect to the ASG will happen with xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:00 until a newer firmware is uploaded into the AP. Afterwards it should only use xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:08 on the ethernet interface.
