I just wanted to give status.  Awaiting arrival of The Wireless Thingy hardware.  Not necessarily a bad thing, since I upgraded to V8 last weekend and will need to reinstall 7.506 for the test.
 
For anyone else in this same boat, a little birdie has told me that 7.506 ISOs should be available on Astaro FTPs this Friday.  This will save a little bit of time for reinstall.

    What I mean by file level backup is say a nightly backup of your mailserver or workstation.  Your going to have an easier time of it trying to retrieve and use a v7.5x backup file than to attempt to use a v8 backup file on v7.506.
     
    No idea how or even if it's possible to do a restore from the Astaro console, but, you can load the .abf backup file onto a usb thumb drive, turn off your Astaro, plug the thumb drive into an available usb port, turn your Astaro back on and it should grab the config file and apply it automatically. Again though, the chances that a V8 backup will work with a v7.5x system are slim.
