[8.174][QUESTION][ANSWERED] How to block Single IP/user by Flow monitor

Hello Everybody..

How to block Single IP/user by Flow monitor. There is a option to block protocol but there is no option for block IP/user. It not good. To block a protocol via flow monitor is not Will not work in whole network, i am unable to understand the use of blocking via flow monitor. Any body can explain the use of blocking via flow monitor..???

    When you click on block in the flow monitor, it creates an Application Control Rule.  You can go to Web Security>>Application Control>>Application Control Rules Tab to edit if you want it to only apply to a single IP.

    Its a manual work, for this there is no need to block by flow monitor. If you are saying this, then i have a batter answer, You can simply create a http proxy profile and put your desire IPs. Its a weakness of flow monitor. Because i don't think there is any benefit for blocking rite now, via flow monitor. I hope in future Astaro will make some changes in flow monitor. What do you think..??

    I see it as depending on what you use the flow monitor for.  Different people are going to want to use it for different purposes and in different ways.  

    For me, I would use the block function to quickly stop some "bad" traffic that I see during monitoring.  An emergency measure.  Then at my leisure, I could go back and use various means (Firewall Rules, Web Security Proxy Settings, Application Control Rules, etc.) to more granularly control the blocking if necessary.

    There's nothing that says the functioning and GUI of the feature can't be changed or expanded in a future version of Astaro.  http://feature.astaro.com.
