[8.200][QUESTION][ANSWERED] When are we likely to see RC2 witha fix fo rthe http performance

Hi folks,
no mention anywhere of the issue is being addressed other than one of Scott's answers.

I had been blaming the overseas connections from my ISP, because most of the time the local connections have worked quite quickly, but not as quickly as in previous 8.2beta versions.

    Well, we're already past RC's.  Soft-releases are a sort of in-between state.  If no problems are found, then soft-release becomes final code.  If problems are found, then there may be several different soft-release builds.  

    In response to your specific question, I may have heard that http performance is targeted for the 8.201 u2d, which should be released VERY quickly after 8.200 goes GA (anywhere from same day to a week later would be my guess).

    I feel your pain here.  I find myself needing to reboot my 8.200 Astaro twice a day.

    Maybe we need to go back a step to an RC.

    I haven't had to restart my ASG yet because it has lots of memory, but I have an observation that the issue seems to be load based eg lightly loaded very poor performance heavily loaded good performance.

    I was using the internet and the network load was in the low kbs of traffic, this site took forever to load and so did a lot of other sites. At the moment the ASG network traffic is running around 3.5mb/s and all sites are loading very quickly.

    Soft-release is kind of an additional RC, just by a different name that sounds better to the marketing folks.  [:)]

    My proxy performance issue may be different than yours.  Nothing that says there can't be multiple bugs.  Mine starts with a segfault, which I believe leads to a memory leak.  2GB ram, memory usage stays around 70%, but my system starts using Swap.  Swap usage slowly creeps higher and higher and performance gets lower and lower until I reboot.

    My ASG http proxy is configured in many different ways.
    1/. the general VLAN with bridged wireless is using full transparent mode
    2/. the fallback is using standard mode
    3/. the wireless for guests is using Standard mode with https scanning enabled

    With heaps of memory usage creep.

    No segfaults.

    Yes i also notice this and reported here  http://www.astaro.org/astaro-beta-versions/asg-v8-200-beta/asg-v8-200-beta-closed-threads/36246-8-160-info-none-ram-usage-discussion-2.html#post169296  (part of full thread ) but if u add 1 mb ram more ram usage goes to max 50-55 % and no swap file in use at all but when u r with 2 gb ram ram usages goes to 70-80 % and start using swap file which i dont understnat 
    half of 3 gb ram is 1.5 mb ram  ,so systm use 1.5-1.8 mb ram
