Soft Release 8.200: Release and Download Information

Hi.

This is the Up2Date package to bring the Beta installations to 8.200 (Soft-Release). The Up2Date package for updating 8.103 should follow soon. More information can be found at the Up2Date blog.

Please note that the Up2date package will also be distributed over the
Up2Date server, so your ASG should usually download the package by itself.

    having a 8.2 now is too early


    Personal opinion here:  I agree...and disagree.  Confusing isn't it.  [:P]  I've been in a ton of betas for different companies over the years.  I have yet to see a GA/RTM that's completely bug free.  No major release is ever going to be truly ready.  If software wasn't released until all issues were resolved, there wouldn't be any software in the retail market.

    Since neither of us really know the nature of this specific issue, I'm only guessing based on previous experience with an issue that had the exact same symptom, we don't know if it will be simple or difficult to fix.  We need to think positively and have some faith that Astaro has a plan in place to remediate this big nasty bug.  As customers, you and I want to see this fixed as quickly as possible.  It would be a safe bet that Astaro takes great pride in the product and wants to get this fixed quickly to avoid potential customer and support problems with wide impact for 8.200 GA.
