There have a been a couple of threads requesting bandwidth reporting based on a user or protocol or application, they are there for those who are interested in the
Webadmin -> logging and reporting -> networking -> bandwidth
Bandwidth, I don't think is the correct term for this report because bandwidth is how wide the hole you are trying to stuff the data down, where as the report shows the total downloads from midnight (in my case). If bandwidth is to be used in that context it should be something like
numbers of hours and part there of by 60 by 60 by line speed (bandwidth) etc to calculate % would give you line bandwidth utilsation.
Where as bandwidth as implied in the report should show show for example a snapshot of the applications/users/ports every 5 secs (maybe 15sec to be more realistic) as a % of the line speed (bandwidth). Now we might be looking for a small cray to run this on when using the faster network connections and probably need to limit the report to the external links.
A more meaningful term for the report maybe is throughput?
