[8.171][QUESTION][ANSWERED] what is BITS traffic

Hello Friends !

I am using windows 7 home premuim in lan  and windows 2008 server on DMZ .
daily my usage for BITS application in 100+ mb ,When bits applcation in use i hardly able   use internet (it takes 3-4 mints to open a astaro site or any other site ) 

on both windows system i did full update .
as per BITS details  from app control rule ---BITS (Microsoft Background Intelligent Transfer Service) is a file transfer protocol used primarily for Microsoft Updates.

can u pls tell me what kind of this traffice is 
what if i disable this traffic ?
