[8.171][BUG][CLOSED] Flow moniter not showing prots detail

Hi Vivek,
a couple of things for you to do.
1/. search for similar threads and add value to them instead of starting new threads
2/. edit your most recent series of posts
3/. Provide more details about the device you are using to look at the display eg FF4.01, IE 5
This thread shows values with 0 which when expanded shows 0 which is what happens on my W7 64 PC FF5.0. My display does contain total download for each item I click on also the ports.

The Astaro team are not interested in looking at your ASG, you haven't provided enough detail. If they think it warrants a closer look after they have asked for log dumps etc they will request access.

Do yourself a favour and please as kbr requested, read the how to post thread.

I just had a look at my ASG, unclassified with 0 and 7mb returned no port, which is logical because there isn't any current traffic to classify or report against.

I think it is batter to look in to the problem rather than criticize me. What every i have posted this is with proof. 
If Astaro team are not interested in looking at My ASG, its ok, i cant do anything and i will not request again, because you are Astaro owner. but my aim is to notify the problem so that Astaro solve that problem and we can see best v8.2. No body asked me what you mention in your 3rd point and am agree with you. One more think i have test this problem in FF-3.16, Chrom-12.0 and in IE-8.

I speak from experience when it comes to posting details about bugs.

Reporting bugs in FF3.x is really a waste of time as it is not a supported product, the others are well last I saw of chrom it was up to 14, but that changes almost daily.

With 8.172 - FF3.6.18 on a mandriva WS shows ports.

Ok fine, than why are you saying that Astaro team is not interested, What is the wrong in my report...?? i am showing evidence. why are you more interested in teaching rather than look in to problem..?? i can also wait for v8.2 like others, without any effort, but i m posting problems and asking questions, because i want to see Astaro Best. Is i am saying wrong...???

You are relatively new to the Astaro environment. As I advised, Astaro will ask to look at your ASG if they feel it will help with the detail that you have not been able to provide.

Astaro do not as a rule look at home users or beta ASGs.

If I can help you to improve your threads, then the whole ASG community benefits because they can see the details and have a look at their own environments and add extra info they find it. Also your threads become easier for the development teams to review and pinpoint bugs without having to drag each detail out. Therefore we get faster releases of bug fixes.

Your first post in this thread repeated information  that you had posted in other posts, you showed the failed reports, but didn't provide any details about what you viewed the reports with or brief details about your PC/workstation.

8.172 has some improvements related to the flow monitor. Does it still happen?

on mine it shows up in the unclassified report only. So not really an issue from my point of view.

Update. FF5 on a Mac Book Pro latest mac software doesn't show any values for ports or source/destination addresses. Thought it might have been because of the low traffic volume.

First thing i want to tell you, I am not a home user, i m Premier Partner. We are working with Astaro from last one year, and we did well and i love this product. I agree that you are very experience person and you have very good knowledge of Astaro, but people like me also working for Astaro and we want to see Astaro Best. So i just want to request you, if any body is posting something with evidence, we should see first rather than criticized. I installed v8.171 in 425 box in production unit, just for testing and i post results because i want to help Astaro team. But if something was incomplete you should ask me because we all here to help each other.

@ kbr, Yes some improvements related to the flow monitor, i am just testing, so i will update you my complete experience later about flow monitor.

please feel free to update us on your flow monitor experience here, even though i personally tend to agree with  Ian that it's not really an issue. But this shouldn't stop you from giving us feedback. We are following every thread closely, even if it sometimes doesn't appear to be the case.

Regarding the other topic(s): if you feel that it is worth the discussion, please start a different thread for this (or add questions to the "How to write good Bug reports..."-thread), so we can keep separate topics in separate threads.
As far as i can see, Ian hasn't criticized you, he just noted that your posts could be further improved, and he even offered some tips. Please see this as a kind of "Hello and Welcome" here in the beta-area of the forum. We are a little different here, but we aren't mean or evil. Feel free to PM me, if you want to further discuss this, and leave this thread to the flow monitor.
