[8.165][BUG][FIXED] httpproxy memory leak

I haven't been actively participating so apologies if this has been covered. I don't have any high cpu usage problems like some other users but the httpprox process seems to be using a lot more ram than usual. I have local content database running and before this version the memory usage has never been this high.

Screenshot2: If you disregard the first part of the graph where I had IPS enabled, the memory usage keeps increasing every day. The graph has a linear upward trend which shouldn't happen after the settle down period of maybe a day or so.

Hi Bill

we have reported the high CPU,memory issues before on versio 8.165 but no response so far. It's either unproducable or astaro is working on it.

how much memory did you expect, or do you know how much memory was used in previous versions? Which features do you have enabled? How much traffic do you have?

Don't mix up different concerns, please. The other stuff i saw didn't even come close to identifying a single process as the cause of the load, instead they went without even a minimum amount of real information.

Hi,
I suspect it is the endpoint security. My current box built from an 8.1565 ISO without endpoint security has a reasonable memory usage (about 32%) which isn't increasing.
The other box using the up2date 8.165 package and endpoint security with patch was showing a memory use increase. When I shut it down memory use was up to 44%.

Previously the resident memory (RES) has been around 400mb and the virtual memory (VIRT) has been around 700 mb with the local content database enabled. I only have 3 users at home and generate around 5gb total network traffic. I have transparent proxy with single av scan and content filtering. I am not blocking any traffic with application control. I am monitoring some traffic for beta testing.

1. Top screenshot ... as you can see, httpprox memory usage has increased from yesterday once again.
2. Application control, nothing special... logging a few applications, DNS probably being the most intensive.

Hi Bill,

we are tracking this, but please, do me a favor and re-check this with 8.170. SvenS has already changed something related to the way ApplicationControl is integrated in the proxy now, and he is pretty sure that you will see "normal behavior" again with the next release.
