[8.164][NOTABUG][CLOSED] Wireless SSID

Hi All

I have an AP-10 with 2 SSID. One for guests which is broadcasted and one for trusted clients which is not. I've noticed that suring a reboot (due to the known issue) the Guest SSID was still broadcasting even though the ASG was rebooting. Of course I wasn't able to connect. From a end user perspective having SSID broadcasted means that the network is up .

I think that the SSID is broadcasted because the AP-10 is still up. Do you think it would make sense not to have the SSID broadcasted when the ASG unit is rebooting?

How long was the SSID broadcasted after the ASG shutdown? Because the APs only determine if the ASG is "alive" every 15 seconds. If the ASG doesn't anwer the APs will time out after another 15 seconds. So in the worst case it can take the AP 30 seconds to recognize that the ASG is gone. And during that time window they'll still broadcast their SSIDs.

Does that match your experience?

Furthermore, some wireless clients keep a list of SSIDs buffered even if the SSID is gone already.
