There is a cosmetic on the text next to reporting settings (cosmetic in bold)
With the drop-down boxes you can configure how long reporting data is kept. Less data stored means less effort spent on the reporting databases, which will reduce base load and increase responsiveness in the dynamic reporting pages. It is generally adviseable to keep the timeframe as short as possible.
