[8.163][QUESTION][OPEN] Equipment - Broadcom NICs

Hi,
I bought myself a new mini-itx motherboard which has 2 inbuilt Broadcom NICs.

This is good so far.

Start install, no NICs found. Investigate log file and find the following error.

Broadcom BCM57788 Gigabyte Ethernet PCIe ignored because it lacks a name (buggy hw?)
I have tried to update the BIOS, but that requires either windows or a DOS install and it appears to be the same version as on the website.

I looked through the hardware (HCL) list and can't find any specific Broadcom NICs only other manufacturers that use Broadcom chipsets.

Any ideas what the error message really means?

    Hi Barry,
    not sure how to do that when the install fails with the broadcom chip only. I only get access to the logfile. Unless the commands will report on the cards after a build even there isn't any software loaded for them . I will give it a try later.

    The motherboard is minix 880GX-USB3.

    I don't think it will do what I want because the minimum power with one Intel NIC is 47watts.
