Hi everyone,
just a short note to inform you that we are suspending the beta for a week, because most of us are moving offices. Astaro is a growing company and we are moving to a new, larger office on the same campus. Not a big deal, you say? Well, it depends. We are moving our whole test infrastructure too, servers, networks, power supply, cooling, everything. Not only dozens of severs (real hardware) and hundreds of virtual machines, also many miles of network cabling are moving.
What does this mean for the beta forum?
Well, the forum will be available as usual, but i have to stop the betabot. You can still discuss the beta, report bugs and issues as usual, but it is unlikely that we can take a look at it before April 27th.
I'll write another announcement when we are ready to continue.
Why does it take so long?
We are moving offices, which means that the Monitors, Workstations, Desks, Cubicles and Coffee-Machines have to be moved too. We've chosen a long (easter holiday) weekend, because many of us are taking a vacation during this time, and to have everything up in place after that weekend.
When will the next version be available?
We plan to release the next version (8.164) from the new office next week, probably on Wednesday. In the unlikely case that something breaks during the move, we already have a backup plan for a release on May 3rd.
Does this affect my updates/patterns?
No, this part of the infrastructure isn't moving.
