[8.163][BUG][CLOSED] file and MIME filters

Hi,

When I add file extension and MIME type filters under WebSecurity-HTTP/S-AntiVirus/Malware they are ignored.  If I go to each Filter Action and add them there they work fine.  I only have a few actions so this isn't to much of an issue but it would be nice to be able to mange them in the one area.  From what I have read this is an issue with the production version of ASG as well.  Is this being addresed?

    From what I have read this is an issue with the production version of ASG as well.


    May i ask where you have read this information?

    I've tried to reproduce what you described, but i wasn't able to. On my test system, everything works as expected.

    This is the thread I was referring to.  There are people with different configurations and they all seem to be having this issue.  As far as I can tell my issue seems to be the same.

    As an update, I rebuilt my ASG from scratch,  applied the updates and rebuilt all my rules, settings etc.  Luckly I don't have a large system.... still took me a few hours though.  Anyway, I still have the same issues.

    From the link you posted i have to guess that you are also using the HTTP proxy with profiles. Is this correct?

    Regarding the other thread: As far as i know, the issue mentioned there is already fixed, so it's unlikely that we are talking about the same thing. Can you tell me a little bit more about your setup?

    Sure,  I am using ASG 8.163, transparent mode with filter actions and proxy profiles.  Client browsers are not set to use the proxy since I am using transparent mode.  Clients are using XP SP3 32-bit and Vista SP2 64-bit, with both IE 8 and 9, as well as Firefox 3.x and 4.

    If I set file extension filters and MIME type filters in the Filter Action they work.  If I remove them from the Filter Action and place them in AntiVirus/Malware section they do not work.

     Forgot to mention that my ASG is running 64-bit.

    so you have Profiles in WebSecurity -> HTTP/S Profiles configured, and are trying to move the File extensions from the Filteraction there to the Antivirus tab in Websecurity -> HTTP/S -> Antivirus?

    Let me rephrase what I was trying to say.

    If I set File Extension Filters and MIME Type Filters in a Filter Action and then place that filter action into a WebSecurity -> HTTP/S Profiles-> Proxy Profiles profile it works.  If I then remove the file and MIME filters from the Filter Action in the Proxy Profile and place them in Websecurity -> HTTP/S -> AntiVirus/Malware  "Blocked file extensions" and "Blocked MIME types" they do not work.

    In short, what I'm trying to do is have global file extension and MIME blocking instead of profile specific file and MIME blocking.
