[8.162][DUPE][CLOSED] How to allow skype with https proxy - again

Hi,

is it possible to use the new Application Level Firewall to allow Skype traffic?
Or how do I setup Skype, when using http proxy in https mode.

In 7.5xx and 8.10x it is only possible through socks proxy. It is useable for the admin and a few people. But when I have hundreds, ...

This is a big Problem. Because when using socks, the User is able to but nearly everthing through it.
Ther should be a way to do it without socks and http/https proxy. The best way is a "autopacketfilter" for and allow rule in application filter.

    There might be a delay in response, cause I am not only testing Astaro Beta Version. (by the way, a week has seven days)

    Because I was not able to post in the original thread, I opened another one.

    Skype with aktive https proxy is a problem. 
    And I like to know what astaro might change.

     Skype with aktive https proxy is a problem. 


    I don't see any problems there. Do you have any evidence to prove?

     And I like to know what astaro might change.


    We fix any bug that we can if we have a way to reproduce it. Provide us with enough details, and we take a look at it. Just claiming "there is a problem" will hardly be enough to make anyone take a look.

    The problem is:

    There is no simple way to allow skype, when using http proxy in http and https mode. 
    Just Install a fresh Astaro setup only http/https proxy (no matter if transparent or not) , and try to connect from a client with skype.
    It is not possible. You have to use socks-proxy, but using this for normal user leads into a security hole.

    Sometimes there is no simple way. And as you pointed out correctly, there are ways. You have to configure the ASG correctly, and maybe that's not always simple, but it is possible. So what's your point?

    Sorry, that's not easily possible, due to a "bug" in the betabot. The way the forum software merges the threads confuses the betabot. I'd have to manually edit database tables to fix that. And i try to avoid that for threads where i'm not convinced that they are worth it.

    The Problem is:

    Some of my customer are angry about the not very easy way to get skype working when using http/https proxy. 

    When using socks proxy, they are open a big door for everone to get around the firewall.
    And setting up skype to use socks proxy for more than 5 Users is bad.

    Because of application filter, this might become easy. So please think about it.
