[8.162][BUG][FIXED] Spoof protection still broken

Can you please post the result of `iptables-save` with spoof protection enabled and disabled?

No- spoof protection off
yes - spoof protection on.

Spoof protection on causes trouble with some with itunes downloads on a w7 PC. My itunes using streaming works fine.

Spoof protection>>normal  ==system need to restart ?
after reboot system unusable 
vlan configure  (yes Ian its working now )

(then u need to restore backup from usb drive )
 edit[:D]on't know how it suppose to work , which mode should use and when

I also have ipv6 traffic marked as spoofed under strict or normal spoof protection. Screenshot of a ping request to google.com (ipv6) below. 

@utm_kid: Changing spoofing levels doesn't log me out of webadmin or make astaro box non responsive so I didn't reboot. Are you rebooting for any specific reason after changing spoof levels?

@Ian do you run astaro at strict spoof protection all the time?

Billibob, I run the spoof protection in normal mode. While my IPv6 access was broken no problems with spoof, when I fixed the iPv6 issue any function that used IPv6 couldn't access the internet of make changes on the ASG. E-mail still functioned.

utm_kid, this issue for me only affects IPv6 component of the PC. I don't get logged out, I haven't tried restarting the ASG though.

I am using 2 VLANs on my internal network. I will be rebuilding my backup box without VLANs and using a USB wireless connection, either today or tomorrow.

I usually don't use spoof protection at all so I am glad you are keeping up with this. By the way dns stops working for ipv6 clients when you enable spoof protection so its definitely broken

I put the 5050e ASG back into service this morning and without making any changes the IPv6 function now works.
It has spoof protection set to normal and IPv6 doesn't work, but I was able to pickup a IPv6 address on this PC.

Being a person who likes experimenting, I tried to access the ASG using IPv4 addressing to change the spoof protection and I was able to access the ASG webadmin reset spoof and then was able to access webadmin using IPv6.

Also having all those lovely functions what not use them or at least try them out and learn something especially during a beta.

glad to see you finally got the vlan stuff working. Did you upgrade the gs108t with that software I sent you.

Back to this thread. What you are suffering is what my original bud thread was about.
I found I could login via the external interface and disable spoof protection which allowed internal access to work again.

Hi Ian ,
even after update it was not working then i called netgear guy and guess what the problem was with netgear switch itself i send back to netgear and they send me another netgear switch and it start working in 10 mints for which i spend f!@#$ time 

i plan to wait till next release and will try later for spoof protection thing

I know this if of topic, but i am glad you were able to resolve the issue with the gs108t. Makes a lot sense why it wouldn't work with a basic configuration.

I did tell you it was easy to configure.
