[8.162][BUG][CLOSED] ICEcast Streams (Internet Radio)

Hi again....  [:$]

I know I'm harping on this.  [;)]

In my testing SHOUTcast streams are 100%.  All ICEcast streams I use however have the blip still.  The best place to go is Home :: 1.FM - The Music Starts Here or http://www.soma.fm since they seem to use all ICEcast servers.

    Hi Paul,

    we have tested it with mplayer and had no hickups with it. I plan to test with winamp, i just haven't found the time to setup my test-environment yet. It will definitely take me another 2-3 weeks before i get to it (i'm moving office over the next weekend), so don't hold your breath. But please, bug me again if i haven't come up with something new in let's say 4 weeks, okay?

    I think I solved our mystery.  I downloaded smplayer (the windows version of mplayer that I found) and it worked fine..... so I scratched my head.  Upon investigating I found that smplayer was picking a SHOUTcast stream... therefore it worked fine.  so I checked the URLS and sure enough they were different.  If I feed the following URLs to both mplayer and WinAmp I get this result, the ICEcast stream skips and the SHOUTcast stream is fine.  Here are the two URLs to test your mplayer with, same station different streams.

    'voxsc1.somafm.com:8880' (SHOUTcast)

    'ice.somafm.com/u80s' (ICEcast)

    I've also attached a print screen of the WinAmp file info for both.  As you can see they are different streams from the same station.  I'll use the SHOUTcast version of the stream when I can but I think we do still have issues with ICEcast.
