How did you verify that the syslog daemon wasn't running? How did you restart the syslog? Is this in a single instance or on your HA machines? Anything in the logfiles? Did you check the "old" logfiles, especially the latest daemon.log and latest fallback.log?
andreas was logged into my HA Cluster. Verifyed by ps faux|grep syslog-ng [:)] /var/mdw/scripts ... The last Log was from 2 days ago 11:30 ... If andreas needs some more, he should have access...
