Under 8.1xx using smtp relay as part of the smtp proxy in transparent mode worked fine. Now nothing is sent and there aren't any entries in the live view indicating a failure or reason for failure.
Hi Shrikant, I am not bad, just a bit annoyed at how bad this beta is compared to some of the previous ones.
The link you posted doesn't quite apply to what I wrote. I use the pop3 proxy for incoming and the smtp for outgoing.
I was not able to send anything according to outlook. Looking at the smtp log there appears to be lots of sent mail, all the stuff that wasn't deleted from the outlook sent mail box eg nothing returned from ISP mail server which I suppose in a way the fix might overcome. I will try with the fix and enable the smtp proxy.

changed smtp proxy as per suggestion, outgoing mail now works.
as mentioned in the other thread: All messages get rejected by the SMTP proxy with the message "451 Temporary local problem - please try later". So this will probably affect your Outlook too.
To work-around this issue disable the checkbox "Reject Malware during SMTP transaction" on the "Mail Security" -> "SMTP" -> "AntiVirus" tab in the "Scan during SMTP transaction" section.
