[8.160][DUPE][CLOSED] no internet access or ASG access from internal network

Hi,
A new build after the initial failure.

logged into console and left connected during configuration. Cancelled configuration process to allow manual config. Set root and loginuser password before proceeding. Checked that they root password worked.

Initially ifconfig only showed eth0

Restored backup from 8.102 taken immediately before 8.160b install.
DHCP worked,
ifconfig shows all interfaces up.
ifconfig shows external interface carrying lots of traffic
no access to the webadmin, no access to console from internal network. No internet traffic on internal interfaces.

I can access the webadmin from the external interface over the internet. All interfaces show up and connected.
I cannot ping the vlan switch from the ASG, but I can ping the vlan switch from a PC.

I have checked a number of logs and nothing immediately stood out.Not sure where to look for error messages.

Looks like a rebuild back to 8.102 is required to keep the family happy.

Are you using the transparent proxy? I was about to open a report for something close to this. I found if I manually configured my browsers to point to the ASG for the proxy then internet access worked fine but without that it wouldnt pass through the proxy.

I should note that before adding the proxy settings, I was still able to resolve dns but just wouldnt pass web traffic

Hi,
thank you for the suggestion. I think there is already a post on the transparent proxy issues with AP.
My AP30 doesn't even connect to the ASG. I can't ping any network elements from the ASG. I am connected in to the ASG over the external interface from work.

I disabled IPS and the http proxy allowed the ASG to settle. No change.

Found a log entry that all my internal interface traffic is being rejected as spoofed.

I have disabled IPS again and restarted the ASG to see what happens

this was more an information post while I investigated what was wrong. I was hopeful that somebody else might have struck the problem and was able to post a hint.
