[8.055][BUG][FIXED] Reset customization to default for Home Lic in 8.00 isn't fixed

My latest screenshot for 8.055 is attached. There should be either an automatic reset of the customization fields or a button to reset it, when using/switching to a Home IP lic where customization has been disabled.

It's just irritating to see my old test-picture from my ASG 7.5xx, and the text talking about ASG 7 when I'm in fact using v8.. just cosmetic though..

    I've applied the 8.1_software.txt lic for now. And I got the ASG 8 text and logo back, but why I don't know.. I thought it would just allow me to edit my old text/logo... 
    I don't think I can add my home lic now, then my wireless security would go away again.. got an AP10, and my lic hasn't been upgraded yet..

    In 8.070 rc1, this now ought to be fixed for good.
    We now reset the customizations to the defaults
     - when installing a home use license while a different license or no license at all is installed
     - when installing a non-home-use license while a home use license is installed
     - when restoring a backup containing a home use license
     - when restarting the Confd (or rebooting) while a home use license is installed
    I really hope this now catches all edge cases.


    I think the problem is with the import of the backup. The ability to customize is taken out of webadmin depending on the license but it still imports the older logo file etc.

    That particular typo in the code to reset the company_text was fixed in 8.002.
    Thus, it will not reoccur with the improved reset logic in 8.070.

    When you change from a home use license to a non-home-use license, the software makes sure that you get a clean start.  This is also makes sense because the markers reading "LICENSED FOR HOME USE ONLY, NOT FOR BUSINESS USE" have to be removed in any case, so it's no additional effort to clean up the whole customization while we are about it.

    Thanks for detailed explanation Ingo. I am assuming the last reset is for people with existing customizations in home license. Now when they upgrade to the next version all the customizations would be reset without doing anything else? So for example on my home license when I go from 8.003 to 8.1 GA all the customizations would be gone.

    Yes, because these people have the problem that they have non-standard texts and maybe images and cannot change them any more.


    Now when they upgrade to the next version all the customizations would be reset without doing anything else? So for example on my home license when I go from 8.003 to 8.1 GA all the customizations would be gone.


    Yes, that's the intention, such that you aren't stuck with stuff you cannot edit.
