[8.050][BUG][OPEN] MantisID: 13221 is back

The UTC clock problem is back. I haven't installed astaro from scratch since the last beta and thought this was fixed. This is how I installed....

1. During the initial setup uncheck hardware clock uses UTC which is selected by default (* in UTC time)
2. My time zone is central time USA

During the initial boot, I get messages
last write time is in the future. (by less than a day, probably due to buggy init scripts)

and a disk check is forced.

Edit: Just googled it and this seems to be a wide spread problem in different distros. I guess its not that big of a deal since it only happens during the initial boot and once the ntp fixes the time correctly, it doesn't happen again.

    Ah, Virtualbox... yes Virtualbox indeed has no way to enter the BIOS during boot. We usually do our testing with VMware, where you can still jump into BIOS on boot.

    On the other hand Virtualbox gives you a little hint in the configuration dialog, right below that area that you captured with your first screenshot, saying "Unix-Gäste erwarten die Zeit normalerweise in UTC" - roughly translated as "Unix guests usually expect the time to be in UTC".

    Aha, thanks for clarifying. My Bios clock is set to UTC on my regular astaro box so I don't run into this problem. Still interesting to see how minor things make a difference in different software.[:)]

    I love virtual box, easy, light weight and works on most regular ISOs thats why I use it plus its free to run anything that is not even vm compliant most of the time thats why I use it instead of vmware.
