[7.950][QUESTION][ANSWERED] Kernel Panic after http proxy enable

I've a strange issue and tried almost everything to find out what it is. Each time when I enable the http proxy my astaro firewall it works fine for about 5 to 10 minutes. After that the firewall becomes unresponsible and generates a kernel panic and reboots.

I setuped my firewall more then one times since this error to be sure that no config missmatch or something else is doing some conflicts. 

I've restored a backup from 7.912 / 7.904 and last but no least 7.504 with my hole configuration. the problem is not available until 7.904 after that the error occurs.


At the moment I don't have any idea where the error came from. Do you have any idea which logs I have to check? When I look at logs on the webgui under logging I cant find my kernel panic...

Is the only solution to do the whole config again? thats the only thing at the moment that I not tried at the moment because it's not a so simple setup. 1 onboard nic, 1 intel 10/100 nic and an Adaptec ANA620xx/ANA69011A quad port 10/100 nic (64bit) Pci. and a lot of proxy rules and vpns...

would be happy to enable the proxy again because no proxy on the wlan network is not so ***y.

Before all works fine with this config until the updates came after the ips issue.

    Yes, running a memchecker is probably a good idea. The http-proxy easily consumes 100-200MB once you start surfing the net (the AV engines take a huge part of that), and maybe you are just stepping on one bad bit after a while...

    yes my firewall is doing a reboot after the kernel panic. when i go back to 7.5x all issues are gone. the problem is also not coming up directly from 7.9x as i described. 

    also the issue cames 2-5 mins after proxy is enabled. when i do no request to the proxy the firewall stays up. after 30min for example one request to the proxy --> kernel panic

    the ram is idle. maybe the mem check is a good idea! i will do it. 

    one thing i tested also is i removed the adaptec nic and inserted 2 normal 10/100 intel nic's and the problem is gone. maybe theres an issue with the adaptec driver?

    does anybody have the same nic's in the firewall working propertly?
