Printable Configuration
We now can produce an XML version of the ASG configuration. This version can then be displayed in your browser as an HTML version (by using XSLT for the transformation). You can find it at Support >> Printable Configuration.
Three display formats are available:
- browse the configuration as separate pages (equivalent to the WebAdmin menu)
- see the whole configuration in one big page, organised like in WebAdmin
- see the whole configuration in one big page, organised like in Configuration daemon (includes internal configuration not visible in WebAdmin)
Cisco VPN Client Improvements
The Local Networks in the Cisco VPN Client configuration now means the same as in other Remote Access configuration (e.g. SSL and IPSec), i.e. the client will only configure routes into those networks. Previously the client always set the default route to the ASG (and the network list was only used for the automatic packet filter rules). You can get the old configuration by configuring the Any network object in Local Networks.
Also at the iPhone tab under Cisco VPN Client you can now enable VPN on demand. This allows your iPhone OS (version 3.0 or newer) powered device to establish VPN tunnels automatically when you try to access certain hostnames. See the iPhone OS - Enterprise Deployment Guide available from Apple for details on this feature.
Note about Up2Date
Due to an internal 7.930 release earlier this week you need to install two Up2Date packages, one from 7.921 to 7.930 and one from 7.930 to 7.950. Please do not test or report bugs against 7.930 but upgrade to 7.950 directly (i.e. use the Update to latest version button).
Known installation issue
There is a known problem with the installation on devices that have two hard discs or more. Sometimes the installed system does not boot after installation even though no error was reported.
This only affects new installations, upgrades are not be affected. If you need to install on such a device it might be preferable to use 7.921 for the installation and then use Up2Date to upgrade.
