[7.920][QUESTION][ANSWERED] bypass asg for sending mail

Hello  Friends !

as i write in some other thread that i am learning mail system and mail-security

i come across scenario where i can send mail bypassing asg 

i have setup a asg on vmware esxi with windows server 2003 and ubuntu 10.04 

i am using imail server when i type mail.***.com in pop and smtp server i am not able to send mail but when i type 127.0.0.1 i am able to send mail which bypass asg

    seems to be a combined issue of routing and dns on your vmware server setup, probably not on the ASG
    have a look at the asg, I am sure that in the case where you said you managed to "bypass" the asg, you really bypassed it, i.e. the smtp traffic is not flowing to/through the asg at all (sou you won´t see ans SMTP traffic neither in pf log nor in smtp proxy log). Of course, in this case the ASG cannot control the traffic.
    Then you can´t blame the ASG for your setup :-)
