Beta Update 7.912: Release and Download Information

Hi.

This weeks update contains two invasive but hopefully invisible fixes:

Fix: More aggressive cache cleaning in POP3 proxy

The POP3 proxy now deletes mails from the prefetch cache if they remain there too long. This should not change anything unless you use the 'keep messages on server' POP3 feature which could lead to the POP3 proxy keeping a copy of all mails as well. Older mails can still be retrieved via the proxy (e.g. if you set up a new mail client), but they will then come directly from the server and not from the prefetch cache.

Fix: Set ext3 journaling mode to 'ordered'

Between the Linux kernel used in V7 and the one used in V8 the default journaling mode for the ext3 file system was changed to 'writeback', which is faster but more prone for errors in case of sudden crashes, like e.g. power problems. We now set this mode explicitly to 'ordered' again to improve reliability.

This requires editing some central configuration files during the Up2Date (/etc/fstab and /boot/grub/menu.lst). Unless you manually edited those files this should be safe.

    After i upgraded to the latest version ,Authentication against Active Directory is not working anymore.
    In the Authentication log i find the following information.
