Under version 7.911 the configuration setting (under Users -> Users -> 'Use static remote access IP') does not seem to be effective for pre-defining the IP address of the remote user. The remote user is (incorrectly) allocated an IP address from the IP Address Pool, VPN Pool (L2TP).
Just tried again under 7.504 and this same configuration (nothing else changed, using exactly the same restored backup config), does successfully pre-define the IP for the remote user.
Using L2TP over IPSec with the 'remote' iPhone to dial-in. Tested by creating backup config file and restoring to both 7.911 and 7.504 freshly-installed systems. Tested on two different hardware systems.
Had some other issues with dial-in L2TP over ISPec VPN with the new beta, will continue to test to track down and reproduce problems.
