This weeks release is a bit early (and therefor a bit smaller) since Thursday is a holiday in Germany and many employees will be away for a long weekend.
Some Up2Date notes
The Up2Date should not require a reboot and will not trigger one. Due to a complete Confd/MiddleWare/WebAdmin restart happening on the machine it can be unresponsive for a short while anyway (depending on your hardware). This likely does not mean that it froze or is broken. Just give it a minute or so to bring everything up again. Also you probably need to hard-reload your WebAdmin tab in your browser. (Just saying this because non-reboot Up2Dates are somewhat rare, it is the first V8 Beta Up2Date not to require a reboot).
Aside from the usual fixes I have for you a licensing change, a big fix for the address sharing handling between Web Application Firewall (WAF), User Portal and SSL VPN, and a small installer feature:
New WebApplicationSecurity subscription
The Web Application Firewall (WAF) functionality is now covered by a separate subscription. The licenses in the Beta overview thread were updated, so if you use WAF just download and install the new license version.
Address sharing fixes
You can now limit the User Portal and SSL VPN to specific addresses, instead of listening on all addresses of the ASG. This allows you to use both e.g. User Portal and WAF on port 443 as long as they listen on different addresses. As before, User Portal and SSL VPN can listen on the same address.
Also you can now have more than one WAF SSL instance on port 443, as long as they each use different addresses. WAF non-SSL instances can share an address.
Easier backup restore after installation from Astaro USB sticks
If you use one of the Astaro USB sticks which act both as CDROM drive and as USB flash drive for installation there is now an easy method to restore a backup file after installation:
Just put the backup file on the flash drive part, and rename it to "restore.abf". The installer will the copy this file from the flash drive to the installation hard drive before ejecting the stick. It will then be automatically applied during the reboot.
Note that this doesn't change anything about the functionality to restore backup files from a normal USB flash drive. It just makes it easier to use the Astaro USB sticks for this without the CDROM part getting in the way.
