[7.904][QUESTION][ANSWERED] how to setup a HA with physical and esxi

Hello Friends !

i will later try to setup a vmware esxi 4.0.1 based and 1 physical asg based CLUSTER/HA

at present both system standalone working fine ,on esxi i have 1 spare nic and on physical how many nic i will require (i have 2 nic )

how to configure they ,which ip address i suppose to use on both system
i have 2 normal switches
and i have only 1 internet connection ,in this case which mode of cluster i can use

please tell me what other thing i will require

The help file in astaro under management-->high availability is pretty self explanatory.

I don't think clusters with different hardwares are supported but if I recall correctly, there is no restriction on setting up a cluster with different hardware. So go ahead and set it up and tell us all how you accomplished it.

Hi utm_kid,

please keep in mind that it is not possible to mix software and hardware licensed installations.

ASG 120 - ESXi: won't work
physical server - ESXi, both with software installation: will probably work

For the cluster:

You don't have to configure anything on the slave node at all. Astaro uses auto configuration. You need a jumbo frame able dedicated sync interface, this interface cannot be used for anything else.
As Billybob has said: read up on HA with Astaro before you set the whole thing up.
