[7.904][NOTABUG][CLOSED] DNS performance

Hi,
I have noticed that most of the time during the beta testing that the DNS is extremely slow. Too many DNS timeouts.
Now my users are complaining about sites that did work, that don't anymore.

    Is your ipv6 enabled? 
    I have these in my logs also but I haven't noticed performance degradation.

    This might be unrelated but I had slow performance issues that got fixed when I started using sixxs. Seems like you have to find a broker that has pops closer to you.

    I have IPv6 enabled. 
    Not fully understanding how IPv6 works I hadn't applied. Following a hint from you I have applied to sixxs.

    I do see 2 IPv6 root level DNS when my ASG is restarted, but at this stage my ISP does not have an IPv6 POP. Looking through the sixxs list, one of other AU ISPs does though.

    The queries are to your ipv4 forwarder but the query is for AAAA record which is ipv6[;)]

    This ipv6 stuff needs a little more finessing in astaro. Since Ipv6 is preferred over ipv4 when both are enabled, you might have to do as william suggested and remove ipv6 from clients. I had exact same slow browsing experience and nothing fixed it till I changed the tunnel broker but your results may vary.

    Hi folks,
    I disabled IPv6 on the ASG and my PC. The PC that caused the DNS log entries doesn't have IPv6 enabled.

    Off to annoy the ISP about IPv6 support.
