[7.904][NOTABUG][CLOSED] dns query timed out with ie

Hello Friends !

when i try to acess some of the https site it give me message in log -----dns query timed out retransmitting (retry 1)" but same site are been able to open in Firefox

but when i uncheck Scan HTTPS (SSL) Traffic from web security >>https it works i try with myastaro.com and msn live singup site

there are many error in content filter (https )which logs/or which log section i should send

i have imported certificate and then restart browser
i am using windows xp sp3 with ie 8 (pls check image for dtls version )

Not sure if its related but they have made some changes to the dns proxy to make it more secure and its not playing nice with some sites.

i am not able to open orkut ,gmail,myastaro
i think in general all https site has problem but it with FF and with ie when u disable HTTPS scan it works !

if u click on http://www.live.com/ and when singup then that link try to connect https://signup.live.com/signup.asp*********************xx?????????? then it gives error

Ok, I just tried hotmail.com with the proxy in standard and transparent mode and mine works fine with IE. Firefox using the proxy also?

1. Are you running the proxy in standard or transparent mode?
2. Clear DNS cache in astaro and see if you still have the problem.
3. Post the logs where firefox is going through to the website and IE is getting dns timeout.

EDIT: I just noticed in the release notes thread that they have changed the DNS behavior back to the way it was in 7.5 so I am not sure any more.

using transparent mode
