[7.901][QUESTION][ANSWERED] Should I bother reporting potentially false positives for IPS?

Hi kbr,

I've stumbled upon 1-3 potential false positives in the IPS (mainly, because my girlfriend couldn't order a harddisk on Amazon - imagine how tense the situation was [;)] ).
Should I bother mentioning them here or are there other ways to report those?

Does the IPS and its ruleset / version differ from the current v7 implementation, so could there be v8 specific bugs in the IPS? If not, my feeling is to probably keep them out of this forum, since in my opinion we should focus on the v8 bug hunt here to make the release and its new features as stable as possible.

    As a customer, you would normally open a ticket with our support.
    As a beta tester for the great upcoming ASG Version 8, just drop it as a bug report here in the forum, i'll forward them. As there are currently 0-2 such false positives per month, this is bearable.
    As a colleague and co-worker, talk to sven (swurth) how he likes to receive these. He'll probably let you assign a Mantis ID directly to him.

    Yes and no. There are differences (some of them, like 64bit, are really subtle), but try to keep the patterns as similar as possible.

    Yes, i agree, and if it gets to much, i'll stop it. But for now i'm ready to take any input.
