Looks like the vmware hardware set for 7.900 has been expanded for Vmware ESX. I just built my new system running the new beta and it does support VMXNET3 NIC, however in the WebAdmin under network interfaces it does not show the supported link modes. Any way to see what mode they are in?
The ASG gathers these infos from ethtool, and the VMXNET3 drivers currently don't support ethtool (or vice versa). We're still looking at improving our ESX support, so i guess this will be fully functional as you expect it with the GA release.
