I know. It's not the most obvious place to put that functionality... I had to ask the developers too. ;-)

There are several places at ASG for certificate mangement but they all do the same for all features. That means you can import a cert at the VPN section and use it at the Reverse Proxy for example.

Hopefully that will change with 'updating the WebAdmin menu structure with many changes to make it better-categorized' as announced by Angelo so that we have a central place for complete certificate management.

We are currently looking at how the cert mgmt might work in a "new" webadmin layout. How would you find the certificate mgmt currently / wishlist? We put it in the Web App Firewall section as it's own item, but perhaps it could be better positioned. We didnt want the admin to have to leave the section they are in and then go to the central place where cert mgmt resides...but i'm open to suggestions.

We thought about adding an upload button right there next to the certificate widget, but this would take *a lot* of time in re-designing how that behaves and we thought we could better spend the development cycles in different areas to greater effect. (it requires a significant re-write of a lot of things to re-do that part.)

First of all: I like the new webadmin design! It looks much lighter and I think it its faster then the old one (i've testet the beta under vmware fusion without any load) so it's just my feelings [:)].

Hmm good questions, certificates are a very important part in a security gateway. Regarding the role based administrators, which are coming also with v8, for me it is on the right place. 

When I am configuring the a new asg I start in the first tab and went through all required tabs from top to down. Then I arrive at the last one, I've done everything. For me is this the fastest way.

So when I  arrive on Web Applications Security I will see the tab Certificates. --> Its there where I need it. Otherwise I have to navigate through nearly the whole webadmin and come back to the previous menu.

I didn't now that this button would need so much time. For me it is ok by changing the method. I only was wondering whether this function is missing or not.

IMHO the certificate management should just go to the management section in WebAdmin. A central place for all certificate-related stuff.
