Well... knowing the V7 doesn't hurt. I think you will also have customers with existing V7 machines. If you can convince them to upgrade immediately, fine. And if you ask me: the difference between V7 and V8 isn't that huge. As far as i can see, everyone here in the closed forum was able to live for three months without documentation. So basically, i don't care if you go for V7 or V8. That's a decision you have to make for yourself. We all here are very pleased to see that you want to become an ACE, but it's your decision which version you choose.
One thing though: i don't know if we already have an exam for V8, and i don't know when it will be available. It might take some months until we're able to offer this certification in your area.

That sounds like a good, reasonable idea. And if you spend the remaining time learning and getting a deeper knowledge of the whole network-related stuff, i'm sure you will reach you goals.
