i have some questions 

1)is astaro bridge works (Networking>>bridge) with esxi ?


2) i have 1 public ip how do i configure that ip in astaro with esxi server so i will able to acess astaro and esxi's guest from out site (with current nat mode i was able to access astaro webadmin console but it was very  slow--gives timeout ask to wait for 30 sec ,still it doesnt show webadmin page )

( how do i use/configure  my public ip  to wan interface as i am doing last time (then no need to configure adsl router all traffice will go trough adsl bridge))

3) can i configure dnat and dmz and static and policy route  with esxi's guest os 

4)how much ram i should use for asg beta (how much ram should be allocated to astaro guest),overall how much is require on system 

5)can i use beta 8 and 7.5 at a time ,if yes what need to be done 
(will i require another virtual switch ,can i share only 1 phyical nic ?)

what is main difference  in asg for vmware and this regular version

i have installed ubuntu as a another guest and its able to filter web site and other thing but i need to explore it in deep (plan to use guest ubuntu as a dmz --can i )and later windows server 2008 and sles 10 sp2 and application firewall and .....etc

1)is astaro bridge works (Networking>>bridge) with esxi ?

basically yes, but you have to be careful, because
- it's easy to confuse esx bridges with asg bridges
- if you make a configuration mistake, your whole network might go down (arp storm / network loop)

3) can i configure dnat and dmz and static and policy route  with esxi's guest os 

should also be possible, but i'm not that familiar with esx. From what i know, the difficult part is to get the esx's (virtual) network configuration right.

4)how much ram i should use for asg beta (how much ram should be allocated to astaro guest),overall how much is require on system 

i can only speak for the guest part here:

We are using 512 Megs of RAM on our virtual machines (guests) for our development teams. That's enough to install an ASG and enable a few features and test them.

If you plan to enable more features or have many users using the ASG, you should consider at leat 1GB of RAM in the guest. 

In this case, the general answer is "More is Better".

You can have as many (virtual) asg guest installations as your host can handle. From a resource/performance perspective, you should take a look at our minimum system requirements (they can be found somewhere on astaro.com) and then compare it with your esx host.

For example:
- Minimum system requirements say 1GHz, 1GB RAM, 30GB HDD for small installation
- your esx host has 2GHz, 2GB RAM 120GB HDD
then you should be able to run 2 ASG instances in parallel, but CPU and RAM are a little bit short, so you may expirience performance issues.

Regarding the number of NICs:
If i remember correctly (i'm not current with vmware/esx), esx requires a separate interface for the management of the esx host, so my guess is that you need at least 2-3 NICs to get started. Virtual switches might help if you plan to only use virtual guests. If you want to mix networks (eg. being in the same segment with a physical machine and some virtual guest), you need more nics (or a physical switch that is manageable and supports VLANs). Please consult the VMware documentation for more details on this kind of setup.

The vmware version is optimized for use in virtual environment, eg.. the high-performance network drivers for VMware guests are used.

Otherwise you should see no difference.
