this behavior appeared first in the first beta release. It was fixed and it worked until the release of 7.860.
Description:
To complete the installation after the first reboot,
it's necessary to log in webmin two times.
The first request asks for the general information. (company, hostname, ...)
After that there's a 40 second delay and the Webmin GUI reloads and shows a login screen.
At this point it is not possible to log on with Safari. Though, after finishing the setup (i used Firefox instead and restored my backup) Safari works without any problems.
I can reproduce this issue, but don't know which logfiles to offer. httpd log does not show useful information, at least in this log level. Where and how can I change the loglevel in this situation? Any ideas?
