Back ground.
Around 0915 9th Jan 2010 the http proxy started using approx 70% of CPU.
There are no entries in the logs that appear to relate to the load increase.
I let the ASG run with this load to see what would happen to users and if a reset occurred at midnight.
Hardware in use for this beta is AMD X2 5050e, 4gb of RAM, ADSL2+ service on MCP61 and VLANs on intel pro 1000.
The performance of the ASG http proxy appeared to improve with the high load on it. I did not receive any retry failures and the users did not complain of undue lag or other issues while gaming or browsing.
At approx 0245 this morning (10th) the HTTP proxy was automatically restarted and the load on the ASGdropped to what I know as normal about 2-3% CPU. The http proxy was automatically restarted again at approx 0430.
In both cases there are seg fault reports created.
Something to think about. Does a power managed box have trouble with the http proxy being slow to request additional resource? Does having a light load cause the http proxy to be swapped in and out causing performance issues?
